Business Development Manager Medical (m/f) Asia

Location: preferred HONG KONG (alt. Singapore)
Develop new business in the medical segment and act as global interface for all medical trends and market developments in Asia. Engage in the pro-active development of opportunities and strengthen our branding and market position in close cooperation with the local sales team - with key focus on the Chinese and southeast Asian markets.
Reporting line will be to GM China/SEA and frequent visits to Shanghai (once per quarter are expected).

Your Tasks
- Identifies strategic market segments for the organization, market segment participants, trends, disruptors, contracts and awards
- Develops opportunities in the target market by leveraging assistance from Marketing, Sales, industry research and their own established networks
- Identifies opportunities to expand our existing product line in order to expand our global market share. Defines new products and related technologies and summarizes the information in global product roadmaps.
- Builds strong working relationships with key points-of-contact, key stakeholders and program offices. Communicates what has been learned to key internal ODU employees
- Builds and presents detailed ODU product and application presentations to our existing and/or “new” potential medical customer base by demonstrating ODU’s value-proposition and expertise in connector and cable assembly technologies
- Works closely with ODU’s Global Product Portfolio Manager, BDM`s, Sales, Regional Sales Managers, Global & Regional Product Management, global marketing, application center & product development center departments - for the purpose of growing our business
- Prepares margin and business case analysis and presents proposals to the executive management
- Provides proactively timely, detailed and actionable notes after business trips and significant customer meetings with a high level of detail and submits reports with the appropriate detail and on time.
Your Profile
- University or above, preferably in mechanical or electrical/electronic engineering
- Minimum 5 years of business development/sales and marketing experience in medical industry is a must
- Strong technical understanding
- Open minded and outgoing personality
- Familiar with design-in/spec-in and buying processes in Medical market
- Demonstrated skills in selling, key account management, collaboration, communication and influence
- Hands-on, highly self-motivated/self-initiated, team player and independent
- Proven track record of creating new business and growing sales is a necessary
- Willing to travel and spend the majority of the working hours with potential or existing customers
